Facilities and operations management
Scott van Iperen
A management background spanning Queensland commercial property environments, national logistics, manufacturing and practical business operations.
Current operations focus
Scott van Iperen works within PROFM’s facilities and operations management environment.
His current work connects facilities management with operations management in Queensland commercial property environments. It includes the practical coordination surrounding commercial office leasing, office installations and architectural development, alongside plant-hire operations.
These activities share the same core management requirements: clear scope, coordinated people and suppliers, safe access, asset readiness, scheduling, communication and evidence of completion.
Management background
Scott’s career developed through frontline retail, self-employment, state and national logistics roles, manufacturing management and international diamond-industry work.
He began with Coles as a trolley attendant and progressed through trainee management to Assistant Manager. He later became Store Manager at Butts SSW Supermarket in Maroochydore.
Scott subsequently purchased a takeaway shop in an Underwood industrial park and developed In Vogue Catering from that base. He also established Kym K Design, a separate hairdressing and beauty business.
After selling the catering business, Scott joined Pizza Hut as Queensland Warehouse Manager. He moved to Sydney as Transport Services Manager and later progressed to National Logistics Manager.
Scott then joined Boral Aluminium Products’ Windows Division as State Manager Logistics. During a consolidation period, he was promoted to National Logistics and Manufacturing Manager.
International operating experience
Scott’s diamond-industry experience includes rough-diamond buying and contract work in Namibia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and South Africa, together with purchasing, sales, distribution, supply and commercial evaluation work spanning Africa and India.
In Surat and Mumbai, he worked with diamond evaluation, laser-assisted planning, market analysis and Sarin technology to assess potential polished yield and commercial performance.
A connected management perspective
Across commercial facilities, logistics, manufacturing and self-employment, Scott’s experience centres on coordinating work through to a clear outcome. His current facilities and operations focus brings that management background into Queensland property and plant-hire environments.
